Here are the 3D Steps: 1. Find an image that has a definite foreground (in front) and a background to use. If it is flat, this won’t work. Think of all the 3D movies you have seen…the objects that seem 3D are the ones coming at you. So look for an image that has something that appears closer to you. 2. Duplicate the original layer. 3. Make 2 new layers. 4.Fill them both with the blue Color info: #00ffff using the paint bucket tool. 4b.Click 1st blue layer, press Ctrl +I to make it red. 5. Move red on top of original layer. 6. Change fills for both the blue and red layers into screen mode. 7. Holding Shift, click blue layer and the original copy (duplicated) layer. 7b. Merge layers by holding down Ctrl+E on the keyboard. 8. Name the merged layer to ‘merged original copy’. Change the mode to multiply.
Now it should be ready to edit. 1. With the merged original copy layer selected, use the magnetic lasso tool to select what you want to stand out. 2. Choose the Move tool and nudge the image to the right by selecting the right arrow on the keyboard. 2b. The more you nudge to the right the closer it is to you. 3. If you nudge a lot then there might be the distracting red to the left which you don’t want, so do not nudge a ton! 3b. Keeping the merged original copy layer selected, hide the red layer and original layer. Do not deselect. Press Ctrl+I on the keyboard. 3c. Zoom in. Only look at the blue merged layer 3d. Choose the paint brush tool and make the hardness to 0%. Color in the areas that you see transparent with the original blue color. 4. View all layers. 5. Thats it!
